Muses: Dance, Terpsichore.

The Muse of choral dancing, Terpsichore carried a lyre and was often depicted with a crown of flowers. According to some accounts, she was the mother of the Sirens (although others say they were born of her sister Melpomene) and of Linus, who is also said to have been the son of Calliope or Urania. By Apollo, Terpsichore (or Urania) is also called the mother of the marriage god, Hymen. In the postclassical arts, she is associated with dance in general; she is sometimes portrayed with her sister Euterpe, the Muse of lyric poetry.
