[?] Froment, Cydippe, comic opera with libretto by (Maximilien-Jean?) Boutillier (1715-1815). First performed 20 July 1785 at Théâtre des Beaujalais, Paris.

S. Pitou (1985), The Paris Opéra: an encyclopedia of operas, ballets, composers, and performers, s.v. "Bouthillier, Maximilien-Jean", states that B. "began his career by writing a cluster of four texts for the [French] Royal Academy of Music that were refused, although the ballet in a single act entitled Acanthe et Cydippe may have been danced at a private château [rather than at the Paris Opéra-Comique itself]." Other compositions by Bouthillier involve classical-mythological and other popular literary texts. The name is associated also with libretto of AcontiusCydippe1.0007_Giraud.
