Heimdall is an active metal band formed in 1994 at Salerno, Italy.

Other, precursor albums —— Lord of the Sky, Temple of Theil, The Almighty, and Hard as Iron —— adapt narratives and mythologies other than classical mythology. The 2013 Aeneid is a reunion album by the band.

The album's lyrics tell the story of Vergil's Aeneid for the most part.
