The director of the Utah Greek Theatre Festival's production of Antigone (Fall 2012) uses the play to comment upon the Arab Spring of 2011.

The production's adverts (.pdf) display prominently the Hamlet quote withouit explaining its inclusion: "She doth protest too much, methinks". The Director's program notes clarify that the production lionizes Time magazine's selection of The Protester as the 2011 Person of the Year. From the Arab Spring to the year-ending Occupy Wall Street movements, 2011 was the year of the protest. This production casts Antigone as a person of the same bent, a protester whose stance ends problematically.
