In "Bender's Game," the Planet Express Delivery Crew is transported into an alternate reality, primarily based on Dungeons and Dragons (although its design was clearly influenced by other significant works of fantasy, such as The Lord of the Rings). With the exception of Fry, each member of the Planet Express Delivery Crew is reincarnated as a fantasy character. Bender the Robot is reincarnated as a knight, Professor Farnsworth as a wizard, and both Leela and Hermes are reincarnated as Centaurs.

Although Leela's personality and traits remain largely as they had been before the foray into the alternate universe, Hermes is reimagined as Hermaphrodite, a hermaphrodite and the most beautiful centaur in the land.

In this movie, the centaurs are extremely skilled archers, and (except for Leela), dedicated pacifists who believe that violence is never justified.
