Peter Paul Rubens, “The Death of Hector,” design for a tapestry series ca. 1630, Museum Boymans-van Beuningen, Rotterdam, no. 1760d

Rubens painted oil sketches for a tapestry series called “The History of Achilles” which were executed 1640’s–1660’s and are now found in Kassel in the Staatliche Kunstsammlung and in the Palazzo Reale in Torino.
