Scenes from JasonÕs struggle with the bulls, derived from Ov. Met. 7.110-21. The oil sketch was worked up after 1742 as painting in Musˇe Crozatier, Le Puy. The painting served as design for one of a seven-tapestry set narrating JasonÕs adventures. Cf. two related sketches in the English National Gallery and the tapestry set in the Victoria & Albert Museum.
