Jules Dassin (1911-2008), director, Κραυγή Γυναικών — Kravgi Gynaikon (A Dream of Passion), 1978, motion picture adaption of Medea, starring Melina Mercouri and Ellen Burstyn; produced by AVCO Embassy Pictures.

Aging actress (Mercouri) is playing Medea in a theatrical production, arranges to meet imprisoned child-murderer (Burstyn) and begins to learn about the psychology of infanticide; but she learns more about herself than she had anticipated.

Dassin wrote, directed, and cast his wife (Mercouri) in this drama. Very filmic.
