Tennessee Williams, "Orpheus Descending," (1955), poem, in In the Winter of Cities, reprinted in The Collected Poems of Tennessee Williams, edited by David Roessel and Nicholas Moschovakis (New York: New Directions, 2002), 14-15.

Williams approached the Orpheus theme in Battle of Angels (1940)=1.0352a, "Orpheus Descending", poem in In the Winter of Cities (1955) =2.0352, the revised drama, Orpheus Descending (1957)=1.0352b, and in his co-authored screenplay of The Fugitive Kind (1960) =2.0352b.
