—— Rohrwacher's celebrated film presents Arthur on a complex quest to recover his lost Beniamina. His longing comes one step closer to fulfillment each time he opens an Etruscan tomb. He disrupts these sacred spaces in the company of merry tombaroli who fence on the black market the gravegoods Arthur leads them to. Along the way, Arthur's pursuit of Beniamina is side-tracked by Italia, an unmarried mother who could well become Arthur's way of forgetting an unforgetable lover.
