According to Reid, the "earlier unfinished version of 'The Rock of Doom' and 'The Doom Fulfilled,' both scenes on 1 canvas — National Gallery of South Australia, Adelaide.... [and] gouache sketch for 'The Doom Fulfilled', 1875, [at] Chicago Art Institute."
