Lamia.
Daughter of Belus and Libya, Lamia was one of Zeus’s conquests. When her children by Zeus were murdered by his jealous wife Hera, Lamia went mad with grief. Unable to revenge herself on Hera, she took to snatching and killing the children of others. Her face eventually turned into a hideous mask. Associated with her were the Lamiae, amorous fiends who lured young men to bed, then drank their blood and ate their flesh.
