The composition of Delaune's etching seems to have been derived from a (now lost) work by Raphael, but mediated by an engraving by Marcantonio Raimondi (1480-1534) (ParisHelen1.0019_Raimondi). A lovely 16th-cent. tapestry by the Gobelins workshop replicates the same scene; it is preserved at the Chateau Cheverny in France's Loire Valley. (ParisHelen2.0001_Gobelins).
